maintenance of the real properties of the First
Presbyterian Church of Pittsford. Legally, trustees are
officers of a corporation established to manage church
properties and the entire board operates under Session
authority. Typically, the Trustees engage in facilities
planning, budgeting, fund raising, expense
disbursements, and property maintenance. There are

The Deacons are officers of the church who serve God
through services to others. Scripture describes the
Deacons role as one of "sympathy, witness, and service
after the example of Jesus Christ". The Board consists
of a Moderator, two Youth Deacons, and forty Zone
Deacons who serve as liaisons between the church and
member families within a designated geographic area.
Each Deacon also serves on one of the Board
Committees, which include Sunday Services, Care Givers,
Communication, Parish Life, Parish Zone, Fellowship and
Education.
Deacons are elected for a three year term with one third
of the Board elected each year. Meetings are held on the third
Monday of each month. |
