The Four Parts of LOGOS

Celebration!

Celebration is the service arm of the LOGOS Program.  Our children will participate in Sunday worship frequently to share their gifts with all of us.  Celebration participation is a very important part of the overall program.  We are interested in helping the young people to see that they have a place, that they belong in worship!

Goal:
To develop responsibility for practice in worship skills because it is a primary service to God as disciples.

Curriculum:
A variety of age-appropriate activities will be presented to our children each week.  Our focus on singing will include becoming familiar with Sunday morning hymns, learning anthems, short introits and amens.  We will sing "just for fun" songs as well.  Other worship skills, such as choral reading, are included.

Bible Study

We are using the Faith for Life Curriculum from the LOGOS Program Inc.  There will be opportunities for shared home study and we encourage you to work with your child on assignments made in class.

Goal:
To nurture children and youth in to responsible, cooperative and biblically informed discipleship.

Curriculum:
Course topics for grades K through 6 will include:
Friends and Family in Faith, Jesus and His Followers, Old Testament Servants of God, God's People Worship, Surprising Stories, Time for Jesus,  The Bible: Our Book of Faith, Questions and Beliefs.

Play

Play is designed to enable youth to express themselves both physically and mentally.  "Sounds of Fun" will be our goal as we utilize noncompetitive games.  Weekly themes will e the basis of arts and crafts projects, exposing children to new forms of creativity.

Goal:
To experience great fun at the expense of no one.

Dinner Hour

The Dinner Hour is the most popular time!  The hottest topic upon arrival at LOGOS is: "What's for Dinner?"  It's our belief that dinner is the hub of the program.  The young folks and the table parents share in creative dialogue and thus continue to develop relationships in a disciplined and sometimes zany environment.

Good manners and proper conduct are two elements what make this time a very positive one.  Each family unit will develop around the guidance of it's table parent.  The Dinner Dean conducts announcements, leads the table games and helps to provide some fun and excitement during dinner.

Because dinner at LOGOS is only one meal out of the week, our goal is not simply nutrition.  Our goal is to provide a fun meal for youth that might consist of such atrocities as hot dogs, finger foods, and or course, gooey deserts!  The administrators in charge of the Dinner Hour have a variety of theme nights such as Beach Party, Star Wars, Circus Night, Swimming and Give a Heart Night.

Goal:
To provide a joyous, inter-generational celebration over a shared meal as we experience being the family of God.
