Outreach
The Outreach Committee initiates, conducts,
and promotes projects that demonstrate commitment to the
Lord's call to help those in need. The committee
oversees all benevolence funds and monitors their
distribution. They identify mission activities and support
organizations, such as Cameron Community Ministries, to
which we contribute our money, time, and talent. The
committee is also responsible for informing the
congregation about the importance of mission, key
issues affecting mission, and the projects needing
support. All members are welcome to meet with
Outreach the first Tuesday of the month. |
Stewardship
As members of this community and of The
First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford, we are aware of the
abundance in our lives. In response, our stewardship
focus is on the needs of the giver rather than the need on the church to receive. Each member is empowered to establish a giving level that truly reflects
their gratitude for God's generosity in their lives. Committee members meet on a regular basis throughout the year to make this philosophy a reality. |
Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women provide the women of our
congregation the opportunity to serve through three
circle groups, individual activities, and mission projects.
Missions include the Boy's School at Industry - Haneayah Cottage, the ARC Home at 19 Church Street,
Sojourner House, and Alternatives for Battered Women.
Also, every year hundreds of pounds of clothing are sent to our various missions throughout the USA. Money for these projects comes from the women's Penny Pincher
Sale and Second Mile Giving. The Presbyterian Women provide flowers in the sanctuary and are responsible for communion
preparation. They also arrange special event receptions
and new member luncheons. |
Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry program equips lay
persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those
who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and
circumstances, both in our congregation and community.
It is a confidential ministry: those receiving care can be
sure that their identity and what goes on in the caring
relationship will remain private. "Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 |
