Presbyterians love to celebrate with one another. Some of the multiple opportunities available at First Presbyterian are listed below.
Presbyterian Women's Circles
The Presbyterian Women provide all women of our congregation the opportunity to serve through circle groups, individual activities, and mission projects. Our local PW ascribes to the mission of Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church (USA):
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build a inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.
The Optimists group at our church is for senior members who have reached the age of 55. There are three major goals of Optimists:
- Learn from our programs
- Enjoy the special dishes prepared for our meals
- Make new friends and strengthen existing friendships
Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month from September to June. We have three meals in September, three pot luck dinners in October, November, and May, and four luncheon meetings from January to April.
