RAIHN (Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network):
Plan to help with a meal, set up, hosting from 7-9 pm, or staying overnight. Perhaps something as simple as doing a bag of laundry after our week could be your service to this Outreach program? We need many hands to help!
We have much to do to accomplish all that we want for our Sunday School program. Whether you can help in just a small way or take on a larger commitment, we'd love to use your God given time and talents for service.
ARC House Outreach
The Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers to help support the Sunday Morning A.M. Service ARC House Chaperoning Program. Together let us all continue to support the continuance of this local mission that began in 1990.
We've Got Your Backpack
This local program is how we are addressing some of the 20+ million children in the U. S. that are at risk of hunger. Many children, particularly in the city, receive free or reduced meals while attending school during the week. On weekends an alarming number of those kids have little or no food. This program helps to meet their needs by supplying backpacks to the kids to help supply their weekend meal requirements. Members collect the bags each week from the student's school and replenish the supplies in time to meet that weekend's needs. FPC members raise the funds and donate the food needed to stuff as many as 60 bags each week. Tops Supermarkets and FoodLink are valuable partners to the success of this mission.
Cameron Community Ministries
FPC sends teams to serve hot lunches 2 Saturdays per month.
Bite-Sized Ministry Opportunities
There are many opportunities for us to "Walk the Talk". Sometimes the contribution of a small amount of time, one time, makes a great contribution for what is needed. Here are a few we'd like to highlight.
Elderberry Express provides transportation to doctors, adult day care facilities, banks, beauty salons, grocery shopping. Additionally, some of our members need help coming to worship from one of the Senior Living Centers in Pittsford and the Rochester area. They are able, but just don't drive. If you could drive sometime, contact the church office.
Do you enjoy greeting people on Sunday mornings and making them feel welcome? We are always looking for Welcoming Ministers who arrive before the 10am service and warmly greet and guide worshipers.
Presbyterians like to eat! If you would like to share your home-made treats for memorial receptions, music concerts, or meals given to those undergoing life's transitions, please feel free to place your goodies in the freezer labeled for your preferred destination.
Our landscaping team meets weekly in the growing season to ensure the beauty of our grounds. Volunteers are always welcome!
Located on the west side of the church property, The Memorial Garden is an oasis lovingly maintained by volunteers.
