Mission Study Approved

The Session approved the Congregational Mission Study Report at its meeting June 18. The Mission Study report culminates six months of self-reflection through the Appreciative Inquiry process and the Holy Cow Congregational Assessment Tool. The Commission on Ministry for Genesee Valley Presbytery has likewise approved the report. Links to the entire study document can be found below. Hard copies are available in the library, narthex, and chapel. Anyone who would like a printed copy will be provided one upon request. Gratitude goes to the Mission Study Task Force who completed this process in such a diligent and timely fashion. Thanks goes to Charlie Francis (chair), Lew Becker, Elizabeth Bishop, Janette Henderson, Addie Ivey, Len Parker, Sandy Seacat, Barbara Smith, Daniel Traina, and Virgina Vorhis for their faithful efforts.

Pastor Nominating Committee

At the most recent Congregational Meeting the nominees for the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) were unanimously approved. The PNC then  elected Lew Becker and Dan Traina as Co-Chairs, Anne Ferris as Recording Secretary, John Messenger and Henry Wang as IT managers. The other members are Charlie Francis, Judith Van Dorn, Dawn Magnuson, Beth Collins, Todd Pedersen and Susie Wahl.

The Ministry Information Form (MIF) was completed by the PNC and approved by Session and the Committee on Ministry. It has now been submitted to the denomination’s Church Leadership Connection (CLC). The CLC is an important tool in the overall call process; it is a web-based system in compliance with the Book of Order that provides global access and visibility to all potential candidates to see our ‘open pulpit’ and our MIF. The MIF ultimately becomes the job posting within the Presbyterian system (CLC) where searching candidates can read and see what we are all about and make the decision if they would like to apply. Through the Church Leadership Connection, our Ministry Information Form will be matched with the Personal Information Form (PIF) of interested Pastoral candidates.
